We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the ROSETTA project, a collective effort dedicated to reducing food waste linked to marketing standards. The kickoff meeting, successfully organized by Q-plan International, marked the beginning of an exciting journey. Partners from diverse backgrounds engaged in meaningful conversations and opinion exchanges. Our team, bringing dedication and expertise, significantly contributed, emphasizing our commitment to the project. ROSETTA leads research in an area where clear evidence is limited, and it aims to tackle food waste caused by marketing standards. It seeks to estimate and reduce this waste by 60%-80% through sustainable solutions for suboptimal foods. The project involves analyzing existing standards, conducting pilot experiments, and providing insights for policy recommendations to revise or design standards and prevent food waste.
During the meeting, our team took the opportunity to showcase our tasks and contributions, particularly in the critical areas of communication and dissemination. We also play a crucial role in the analysis of the current situation regarding food marketing standards and food waste. Following a day of presentations, discussions, and fruitful conversations, the entire consortium took a well-deserved break to relax and get to know each other over a delightful dinner. This not only provided an opportunity for team members to de-stress but also set the stage for strong collaboration in the days to come.
As we embark on this journey, our primary focus is to explore how marketing standards contribute to food waste and find sustainable solutions. The complexities of the issue are evident, and the entire consortium, including our team, is committed to providing concrete evidence and impactful outcomes. Our goal is to reshape the way we perceive and manage food resources, creating a more sustainable and efficient future for all.
