The GreenFit Project officially launched on October 6th & 7th at KEDEA, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, bringing together 20 partners from 10 countries across Europe to ignite a shared vision for the future of rural agriculture in Europe.
What is the G
reenFit Project?
GreenFit is a forward-looking EU-funded initiative that aims to accelerate the adoption of climate-smart farming through AI, IoT, XR tools, and strong community-led innovation. The project focuses on empowering farmers with real-time digital tools, fostering robust value-chain partnerships, and delivering scalable, sustainable solutions across Europe’s rural regions.
Two days of Collaboration, Innovation & Connection
The Kick-Off Meeting (KoM) was a dynamic space for collaboration, impactful discussions, and engagement. Over two intensive days, partners from Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Malta, Romania, Serbia, Spain, and Sweden connected through presentations, strategic discussions, and interactive sessions. A few standout moments included:
- A live voting process to select the official GreenFit logo, allowing all partners to shape the project’s visual identity together.
- Engaging team-building activities that encouraged cooperation and cross-country networking.
- In-depth exploration of GreenFit’s five strategic pillars, guiding the project’s long-term impact on rural agriculture.
Introduction of GreenFit’s Five Pillars
GreenFit is structured around five key pillars that provide a comprehensive methodological framework for transforming rural agriculture. By combining sustainable farming practices, advanced technology integration, and active community engagement, the project addresses the complex challenges farmers face today while delivering scalable, practical solutions. These solutions are powered by strong value-chain partnerships, innovative digital tools, and real-world implementation, ensuring GreenFit’s impact is both meaningful and sustainable. Each pillar addresses a key challenge:
- Understanding Barriers and Challenges
- Building Value-Chain Partnerships
- Developing Climate-Smart Solutions
- Implementing and Validating Innovations
- Community Engagement and Capacity Building

WR’s Role in GreenFit Project
At White Research (WR), we’re proud to play a central role in advancing the GreenFit mission. Our team is leading two core components:
- Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation (DCE) Strategies in which WR is developing an integrated communication and outreach plan to ensure GreenFit’s results are widely shared, clearly understood, and effectively adopted by engaging stakeholders at local, regional, and EU levels while fostering meaningful dialogue around climate-smart innovation.
- WR is also responsible for designing a robust framework for the Value Chain Partnerships Mechanism that brings together actors across the agri-food value chain by mapping key players, facilitating collaboration, and establishing mechanisms to support long-term, cross-sector partnerships focused on innovation, resilience, and sustainability.
