White Research is proud to be part of VISION4FOOD, an exciting Horizon Europe project dedicated to enhancing the sustainability and resilience of food systems across Europe. Officially launched in January 2025, VISION4FOOD brings together 13 partners from 8 countries to drive food system transformation through innovation, governance, and stakeholder collaboration.
Objectives and Vision
VISION4FOOD is designed to address the pressing challenges facing Europe’s food systems, such as fragmented decision-making, low inclusivity, and a lack of region-specific solutions. By developing innovative governance models, the project will empower local actors and accelerate the transition towards climate-resilient, circular, and inclusive food systems.
At the heart of the project are Food Innovation Platforms (FIPs), which bring together Quadruple Helix stakeholders—academia, industry, policy-makers, and civil society—to co-create solutions tailored to the unique needs of each region. These platforms will serve as hubs for knowledge exchange, regional challenge identification, and the scaling of best practices to ensure effective governance in food system innovation.
The Added Value of VISION4FOOD
By embedding Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) principles and promoting open science, VISION4FOOD ensures that its strategies are inclusive, evidence-based, and aligned with European food policies such as the EU Farm to Fork Strategy and Food 2030 priorities. Through co-creation activities, acceleration agendas, and capacity-building efforts, the project will:
✅ Strengthen regional innovation ecosystems
✅ Support sustainable food governance
✅ Enhance nutrition, health, and circularity
✅ Foster climate resilience in food systems
