Project narrative

The European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) is an EU body created by the European Union in 2008 to strengthen Europe’s ability to innovate. The EIT supports the development of dynamic, long-term European partnerships among leading companies, research labs and higher education. These partnerships are called EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) and each is dedicated to finding solutions to a specific global challenge, from climate change and sustainable energy to healthy living and food.

The purpose of this project is to perform 3-year interim reviews of the 4th wave of KICs (EIT Manufacturing and EIT Urban Mobility) in accordance with the Draft methodology concept of the KIC 3-year interim reviews and defined evaluation criteria. The 3-year interim review should assess the KICs performance during the first 3 years of their partnership agreements, i.e. 2020, 2021 and 2022, against short to medium-term outputs and results defined in the EIT Impact Framework and the respective KIC annual targets in their Strategic Agendas.

The review will assess whether and to what extent the KICs are achieving their targets as set in their initial proposals, Partnership Agreement, SAs, and Business Plans. We are responsible for the full evaluation of a KIC.
