Project narrative

Democratized innovation holds undeniable promise for European producers. However, its integration with corporate innovation processes is still in its infancy. Through iPRODUCE, we aim to technologically advance existing well-proven manufacturing frameworks, such as FabLabs and Makerspaces and deploy them in connected multi-stakeholder structures, under the concept of collaborative Manufacturing Demonstration Facilities (cMDF). 6 cMDFs will be established across the EU with diverse application areas, engaging industrial actors, makers, and consumer communities into joint co-creation challenges for the manufacturing of products and the introduction of innovative engineering and production ecosystems.

Our experienced consortium is responsible for mapping the makers’ and consumers’ needs and perceptions as well as defining the engagement methodologies that will mobilise our stakeholders around collaborative and co-creation schemes. We will also deliver novel business models, an open innovation platform, and training toolkits which will be ultimately used to support the formation of new cMDFs.
