The ALFA project officially kicked-off!
ALFA, a new Horizon Europe project, successfully completed its kick-off meeting in Thessaloniki (Greece). On the 29th and 30th of November, the Consortium partners engaged in constructive discussions and exchanged ideas on how to move forward in the project during its kick-off meeting.
The project aims at unlocking biogas’ potential production in the EU’s livestock farming industry. It will support farmers across 6 EU countries (Italy, Denmark, Belgium, Slovakia, Greece, and Spain) with financial, business, and technical support for overcoming existing barriers and increasing the uptake of biogas systems.
The ALFA Consortium is led by Q-PLAN (Project Coordinator), and involves nine other partners (APRE, Azzero CO2, FBCD (Food & Bio Cluster Denmark), SIE, CERTH, White Research, PEDAL Consulting, European Dairy Farmers (EDF), and the European Biogas Association (EBA)). More specifically, White Research will coordinate the Dissemination and Communication activities in addition to leading the Belgian regional hub.
Moreover, White Research will also be responsible for market research activities, leading two research tasks with the goal of:
- Analysing stakeholders’ perceptions, needs, and challenges around livestock farming biogas uptake;
- Formulating policy recommendations at the EU and national levels to foster the adoption of biogas solutions.
Last but not least, White will oversee the development of the ‘Replication Guidelines’, to spread good practices and lessons learnt from the project to the various audiences concerned.
