Project narrative

Over the last years, the EU has witnessed some remarkable steps in Renewable Energy (RE) deployment. However, compared to other RE sources, bioenergy has a remarkably slower development pace in the decentralised energy production which is a model that is set to play a crucial role in the future of the energy transition in the EU. BECoop aims to provide the necessary conditions and technical as well as business support tools for unlocking the underlying market potential of community bioenergy. BECoop will focus on mobilizing citizens around bioenergy initiatives, improving bioenergy image and acceptance in society and assist the new initiatives by identifying the most suitable technical, business and financial solutions.

White research is the coordinator of BECoop leading all the management and coordination activities of the project. In addition, white research is also leading the activities analysing the community bioenergy application potential in bioenergy heating and the mission of replicating the BECoop concept and results to additional regional frameworks.
